I Can't See You...Got This Log In My Eye Here

'Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you!

Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.'

Matthew 7:1-5...LOVE IT! i remember learning this passage as part of my Bible Team in elementary school at Berean Academy in Hixson (in the KJV though)! the pastor at Silverdale Baptist where me and Becca visited today spoke on the importance of not judging others, and it's something i think EVERY Christian should hear and understand if they don't already.

so many people outside of the Christian life believe Christians are nothing but hypocritical, self-righteous and judgemental people, and a lot of times we are. even just today, i caught myself at Walmart noticing the different 'types' of people in the store and sizing up who i believed them to be in my head. while that's more of an outward judging, many time we compare our sins to the sins of others as well to make ourselves, "feel better" about ourselves.

i'm going to choose to start this week off in humilty knowing God forgives me of my sins, even the ones i choose to repeat over and over again, and loves me even though i'm a repeat offender. i challenge you as well to see others as Christ would see them this week. not just as a lost soul in need of repentance of their sins, but as a sinner just like ourselves who God is waiting to forgive and love unconditionally.
