Things we do for our kids!

Well, the last week and a half have been really crazy for me and my family.
Let me let you into our life in order to prove a point: Thursday after the am show my wife and I headed up to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. We checked into the All Seasons Hotel in Pigeon Forge and walked/shopped Gatlinburg. It was beautiful! We ate at the Applebarn, (delicious!) and went back to the hotel to turn in early. Friday morning I was up at 4am-at Dollywood for the morning Show at 5am. Broadcast from 5-11am. Went back to the hotel and picked up Amy and hit the Outlet Malls of Pigeon Forge for about 5 hours, back to Dollywood for the afternoon show, drove back home-Went to bed, got up for the J103 pancake breakfast from 5am-10am, then went and broadcast from the Antique Road Crew remote in Cleveland, came home and went on the TN Vally RR Dinner Train with our winners, and got home at about 11:30pm.

Whew! Now here comes the point. As supportive parents we try to be at all of our three kids activities, games etc. This weekend Trevor had a select soccer tournament in Atlanta. With all we had going on-there was no way we could make it there for Saturdays two games. We planned on going Sunday morning (8am game-in Atlanta!) After the long 48 hours we got home Sat night exhausted, so I texted Trevor and asked if he would mind if we didn't make the trip Sunday morning. He said "No problem Dad, I understand and I am having a great time." So we planned on sleeping in and putting up the Christmas decorations outside, (after church of course).

We received a text from our good friend Joe, (his son Jacob is Trev's best friend and team member). They had won the game that morning, (making them 3-0 for the tournament), and would play in the championship game at 2:30.

Guess what Amy and I did........That's right-we drove to Atlanta, watched Trevor's team win the championship and came back home!

Amy summed it up on our way down to Atlanta-"You know, we won't have these days too much longer." She's right. Lauren is a senior, Trevor a junior and Chipper will be a freshman next year. Keeps things in perspective! Have a Merry Christmas with your family!
