Get your attention? Now know this, I did not lose my salvation. In fact, I believe I can not lose my salvation. Jesus Christ died for my sins on the cross. I accepted Him into my life as Lord and Savior, and he came in and set up shop.
But I did lose a little silver "stone" with the name "Jesus" inscribed on it. Someone gave it to me at Christmas time and I was instructed to keep it in my pocket as a constant reminder that my Savior is in my life all day long. I had kept it in my pocket every day since Christmas time.
The good news is.....I found Jesus.....this morning in my pants pocket.
I am so thankful to Jesus for all He has done and continues to do in my life. We had one of those "Thankful" moments last night when Lauren received a call from the Academic Dean at Bryan College informing her she had won the Dean's Scholarship competition and along with it the $7,000 scholarship. Thank you Lord for being in control of my life.
Have you found Jesus?
That is the way I was brought up. I believe that Jesus death on the cross and His love is unconditional except for the fact that you have to pray and ask Him to forgive you of your sins, and come into your life to lead. In a sense you give your life/heart to Jesus. He is in control not me. (At least that is what we attempt on a daily basis). Because I am human, I mess up on a daily basis. I try not to, but it happens. When Jesus died on the cross He paid for ALL of my sins.
The only way that I believe you can lose your salvation is to deny Christ in your life-to command Him to come out of your life.
There are many different denominations that have different beliefs on eternal security. This is the peace God has given me.
The most important thing to know is there is no way to eternal life except throught trusting and believing in Jesus Christ.
