Wow, it's been a few weeks since I updated my blog. I am so sorry. I was blessed to take a week of staycation (where I presure washed, sanded and helped paint our deck).

Saturday morning, my wife and I were at the Praters Mill Run for God 5K race. One of my rolls there that day was to cheer on each finisher as they approached the finish line. It was so inspiring to see all of the runner's faces as they rounded the corner and could see the "prize." Several threw their hands up in the air towards God and I could see them mouthing "Thank You" to our Heavenly Father who gave them the strength. I also loved seeing the family members and friends with cameras, video cameras-capturing the moment while supporting their loved one-who (for many) had just completed their first race. It made my week.

There are a lot of paralells between running a race and living for Christ. God gives us the strength to run every day. There are brothers and sisters in Christ cheering us on-providing encouragement. Don't forget that! You can do it!

You can also "do it" as far as running. At JFEST this year we have partnered with Run for God to bring you the Run for God JFEST 5K. Start "training" today. (And don't let the word "training" scare you.) My wife and I have joined the Run for God group at our church. Last night we completed the first "workout" Here is how it went: a brisk 5 minute warm up, followed by 60 seconds of jogging, then 90 seconds of walking, 60 seconds of jogging, etc. until we had been moving for 20 minutes. Then we had a 5 minute walk cool down.

See, you can do it! I encourage you to set a goal of running the Run for God JFEST 5K. It will change your life.
