TED GOCKE'S BLOG
Tomorrow afternoon, Amy and I will have our first taste of what 3 years from now is going to be like.
In the morning we move Trevor into his dorm at Bryan College. Lauren has been there for two weeks. Chipper is leaving tonight for a FCA campout and won't be back until Sunday.
When Amy and I get home tomorrow afternoon we will be "child-at-home-less."
I have joked for years at how I am "looking forward to the empty nest." Amy I were married only 14 months before Lauren came along-so we never really had much time just as a couple. So there is a part of me that is looking forward to the two of us being able to focus on just each other.
I have to admit, for the first time, that it is sinking in-our kids are growing into adults and moving on with their lives. We have tried (and failed many times) to raise our three kids up the way God would have us. We know that they are His kids and we were just entrusted to raise them.
Now we pray that they remember all God has taught them through us.
Oh, I forget.....Chipper will be back home Sunday afternoon, and will be there for at least three more years!
Thank you God for my kids!
