U.S. Postal Service "Stamp Out Hunger"
The Chattanooga area Post office is working with local food banks to "Stamp Out Hunger" Saturday, May 10th. To participate, residents must place a bag of non-perishable food items next to their mailbox. This is an easy way to get involved with the community without even leaving the house.

Colonnade Theatre presents “First Baptist of Ivy Gap”
The Colonnade Theatre of Ringgold, GA presents “First Baptist of Ivy Gap”, a story of six remarkable ladies that span 25 years of history at the Ivy Gap Baptist Church. Each of these ladies will convey both humorous and heartfelt memories as we see how the affects of both World War II and The Vietnam War take on their family and friendships. Tickets are $11 for adults, and $9 for students and senior citizens.

CSTHEA Presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado”
The Chattanooga Southeast Tennessee Home Education Association will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Mikado” Friday and Saturday, May 16-17. “The Mikado is a musical comedy that takes place in fanciful, Japanese society. It is the tale of a wandering minstrel whose misfortune it is to fall in love with the beautiful ward of the Lord High Executioner of Tiptu. The performance will be at 6:00 pm both nights with doors opening 30 minutes before. Admission is $5 for adults, $4 for students and $3 for children 12 and under.

Youth and Homosexuality Seminar
The City Church of Chattanooga will host a seminar on Saturday, May 17th to discuss youth and homosexuality. Topics will include: finding out what homosexuality and sexual orientation are, why some people experience same sex attraction, can sexual orientation change, is it possible for a person who is gay to become straight, and telling others and getting support. A light dinner will be provided, but reservations are required by Monday, May 12th. This seminar is for anyone who wants to better understand the issues from a Biblical perspective.

Auditions for The Wizard of Oz Children's Production
Hope Productions, Inc will be hosting auditions for The Wizard of Oz at the By Faith Studio in Lafayette, Georgia, Saturday, May 17th. Vince Stalling and Dawn Howard will be directing this production of L. Frank Baum’s classic story that has been adapted for children’s theatre by Kathryn Schultz and are looking for 30 children for this production. Children who are auditioning must bring a current picture, prepare a short monologue and a song. Tentative performance dates are July 18, 19, 25 and 26. Second Annual Strike Out Biblical Illiteracy Softball Tournament
The second annual Strike Out Biblical Illiteracy softball tournament is happening May 17-18 at Camp Jordan. This event will be a fundraiser for the Bible history program at East Ridge Middle School and will be a double elimination format tourney. There will be men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions and an entry cost of $100. The deadline for entry is May 13.

Jones Memorial Missions Golf Tournament
On May 31st, the youth of Jones Memorial will sponsor a golf tournament to help with the cost of their summer mission trip to Mississippi for Katrina relief. The cost is $60 dollars per player. On Saturday, May 31st at the Dalton House of Prayer, there will be a concert to raise funds for the Harvest Outreach Homeless Mission.
