The basic goal of GAME DAY is to create an environment and playing field for school and rec teams to BE the total center of attention. School and rec teams are used to performing at games. Now, it’s your team’s turn to BE THE GAME! The day will be filled with and focused around unbelievable athletic performances by cheerleaders and dancers. It’s your crowd’s turn too! It’s their time to get fired up and to be the spirit leaders for these hard-working, dedicated athletes. To cap it off, our day will end in celebration and GAME DAY recognition of those who rocked the floor the best.

Singer/songwriter Sara Groves will perform at a benefit concert to raise awareness about human trafficking and to raise funds for TraffickStop, a 10/40 Connections\' anti-trafficking initiative.

There are 12 million people worldwide who have been trafficked for forced labor or sexual exploitation (United Nations). 10-15 thousand girls are trafficked into India from Nepal every year (US Dept. of State) Through TraffickStop, 10/40 Connections desires to sow seeds of justice in the lives of girls in Nepal with efforts such as interventions at the border, sewing centers, and recovery homes.

Join us for an evening of live music from Sara Groves. Opportunities will be given throughout the evening to seek justice for the oppressed in Nepal.

Doors open at 6:00pm. Concert starts at 7:00pm.

Deaf Chat happens at Chattanooga\'s largest Starbuck\'s at 2217 Hamilton Place Blvd. on the 3rd Saturday every month 10:00 am -12:00 pm. (See the \"Calendar Page\" for a map.) This casual group meets for coffee & Sign Language conversation. Monthly attendance averages about 40-60 people. Event to Highlight Services to Seniors and Disabled Persons in the North Georgia Communities of Walker, Dade, Catoosa and Chattooga Counties

The Elder Abuse Team of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Domestic Violence Task Force is sponsoring the first Senior and Disabled Services Awareness Day at the Walker County Civic Center on Friday, September 17, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

This event is open to the public and all service providers working with elders and disabled persons including law enforcement, social workers, lawyers, health care professionals and others. The event is targeted at those living and working in Walker, Dade, Catoosa and Chattooga Counties.

Informational booths will be set up from providers representing services such as legal services, health care services, community action, advanced planning, and government agencies such as the Department of Labor and Medicaid. Personnel will be handing out information and answering questions. Educational sessions on long term care, legal issues, adult protective services, and Medicare/Medicaid issues are scheduled at various times throughout the day. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day.

The purpose is to provide as education to those caring for or working in a personal or professional capacity with elders and the disabled. Our mission is prevention of abuse toward these vulnerable members of our community and we hope this event will provide much needed information and education to aid in getting needed services to the senior and disabled population.
