God! Why?

It was a normal Friday. I was in a lunch meeting with our President and Founder, Bob Lubell....and our Program Director, Justin Wade. A news notification on a smart phone got our attention. Pray for the victims...they found the shooter....what? As we learned the horrible news of Sandy Hook Elementary, Bob looked up and said....all 3 of us have kids in an elementary school right now. It stopped our conversation in its tracks. Our kids are in school right now. Are they safe? The first thought was to jump in the car and run pick them up. But thankfully, our kids were all safe Friday.

An unthinkable tragedy like this leaves you with little to say. But I do offer this prayer for the families in Connecticut:

God, I pray that you will reach down with your loving arms and comfort these familes today and in the days to come. Fill them with the peace that passes understanding, as you've promised you'll do. And while I can't imagine what they are going through today, I pray that somehow you will find good in this bad. Lord, may these families all be drawn closer to you as a result of these events. I pray for a revival across the United States. If it's your will Father, let it begin in Newtown. In Jesus Name, Amen.

One final thought.....hold your kids a little closer today.
