Yesterday morning Big Daddy Weave's Mike Weaver shared with us how his home and church growing up where his "safe places." Mike suffered from poor self esteem and did not look forward to going to school. He said at home and church he knew he was accepted and all was well in the world.
Where is your "safe place"? For me, it would be on my front porch swing (in warmer weather!), or as Mike said at home. I also love my ultimate "safe place" in Jamaica at "Galina Breeze" which is the camp we stay at when on mission trips. There in the mornings-as people are getting up and getting ready-I sit on a ledge over looking the crystal blue Caribbean Sea and as I read my Bible and pray I feel it so much easier to talk with my Heavenly Father.
