MLK Day of Service 2020
The University of Georgia's extension office in Catoosa county will be taking donations for the Children's Advocacy Center for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on January 20, 2020. Each year the Catoosa county extension office puts on a day of service to honor the service work of Dr. King. For the 2020 day of service, the Catoosa county extension office has chosen to partner with CAC in order to help them serve our community to the fullest potential.
In addition to collecting donations for CAC, the Catoosa county extension office will also be hosting a craft event where students between 4th and 12th grade can come help make simple, cozy items for CAC. There is absolutely no crafting experience needed to participate! Lunch will be provided to all in attendance as our way of saying “thank you” to attendees. The event will be held at our office in Ringgold and we will be crafting from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Children's Advocacy Center is a part of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit, which consists of Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, and Walker counties. The mission of the CAC is to "provide a child friendly home that assists in the centralized activities of all agencies involved in the intervention and prevention of child abuse," according to their website, www.caclmjc.com. Our children are our future; and by providing CAC with donations they will be able to further their efforts into aiding the future of our community.
