On Golden Pond
East Brainerd Community Theater presents its production of On Golden Pond March 16 at 7:30 pm, March 18 at 2:30 pm, March 24 at 7:30 and March 25 at 2:30. The show focuses on Ethel and Norman Thayer who are spending the summer at their vacation home on Golden Pond. Their summer routine is given a bitterly comedic edge by Norman’s unreliable memory and gruffly morbid statements. When daughter Chelsea visits, bringing boyfriend Bill and Bill’s teenage son, the family must come to grips with Norman and Chelsea’s turbulent relationship, the gap between young and old, and the challenges of a couple in the twilight years of a long marriage.
