Superchick Offers Free Download of "Courage"

GRAMMY Award nominated pop-rock group Superchick is offering a free download of its song "Courage" (from the Beauty From Pain  album) Feb. 21-27 in support of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.

The song was originally inspired by Superchick guitarist/vocalist Melissa Brock's personal struggle with an eating disorder. Melissa explains, "I know full-well the pressures that society and even friends sometimes place on us to be thin and beautiful. It started for me when I was 15. I know what it’s like to not feel pretty, to feel fat, to feel like no one would ever want to be with you or even be friends with you because you feel so bad about yourself. BUT I also know how it feels to be free from those pressures and feel a love and acceptance that isn’t humanly possible. This week I am sharing my story, the whole story. And I hope that it reaches someone out there who has been or is where I have been. The biggest step is knowing you aren’t alone."

Read Melissa's story in its entirety at http://www.superchickonline.com/blog/?p=506. Also--access the free download of "Courage" at http://inpop.com/superchick/courage/. For more information on National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, visit:www.nationaleatingdisorders.org/.

The free download is an extension of Superchick's involvement with "Operation Beautiful," an NEDAwareness Week featured organization. "Operation Beautiful" is an international campaign that encourages women to love themselves just the way they are. For more information on "Operation Beautiful," visit: www.operationbeautiful.com.
